Silver Linings Playbook had a slow rise to earning $236.4 million worldwide. On its opening weekend, it gained $443,003 from only 16 theaters. Over time, more theaters started showing the David O. Russell directed film. Three months after its November 2012 release, the film earned over $100 million at the box office. The film reached over $200 million in May 2013. With eight Oscar nominations, the film only gained an award for Best Actress (Jennifer Lawrence).
