Plastic Coffee Pods
Before, if you wanted a cup of coffee in the morning, you would either need to make a whole pot. Alternatively, you could use a small amount of water for one cup, but would still need to clean the entire coffee pot. Keurig solved this problem by creating the one-cup coffee machine. One of the things they did not think about is the tiny non-compostable pods used to make each cup. The plastic-aluminum K-Cups can take from 150 to 500 years to decompose, making them an environmental hazard.
