If your Gran hasn’t got a computer, buy her one for her birthday or Christmas, or persuade your parents to part with the cash for one. It’s your mission to bring Gran into the 21st century and help her discover the joys of the internet, including free communications and online bingo!
Although there are a lot of older people who are comfortable with modern technology, there are also many unenlightened senior citizens who like to complain that they don’t need new-fangled technology such as mobile phones, computers or any other examples of modern machinery that you may be able to throw at them. However, when you actually get them to use the so-called not-needed items, they turn out to be quite keen!
So, even though grandma might think she doesn’t need a computer, we know she does, and, what’s more, we know
To get Gran on your side, mention how broadband prices are the only utility that has fallen in cost over the last 12 months. If this fails to enthuse her then deliver the ultimate whammy; ‘Grandma, you can play bingo on the internet any time that you want!’ If that sales pitch doesn’t work try telling her about the free communications that she can have with her family. Not only emails, but free telephone calls and free video calling to anywhere in the world, just so long as whoever you are calling is on the same VoIP software.
Plant the thought in her mind about how she can monitor the development of all her grandchildren, whether they live just down the road or on the other side of the world, from the comfort of her own chair, allowing your Gran to, not just to chat on the phone, but see them on the screen too!
