It had been over 20 years since Wales has won at Twickenham, but their outstanding performance during the second half led to their victory over England.

Wales make big win over England

The full first half was England’s when they were leading 16-6 at half time with a boot from Jonny Wilkinson and a try from Toby Flood. However, Wales gave England a very hard time in the second half and changed the event around to their favor.

This the teams first match under their new coach, Warren Gatland, and at half time he must of said something incredible to his team for them to have had such an extraordinary turn around. Mike Phillips put Wales in the lead when Ian Balshaw had a kick charged down.

England tried to stay up just minutes into the second half but Hook to the game to a draw. They key was for Wales to play a little more freely with confidence and fluency and Hook trying to narrow out the gaps. Henson also played excellent and gave Wales an awesome break to keep the pressure on England.

England then kept making error after error and Hook kept taking advantage with more penalties. The first half lead just kept fading and fading away and with the stunning pass made by Wilkinson that Danny Cipriani missed by at least five meters gave the Wales an amazing attack chance that they did not let get out of their hands.

The match just got more and more complicated by the minute for England with offloads, conversions and ditch tackles. Wales, although everyone thought they would pull through, played very well in an intelligent manner and were able to break their 20 year record.
