I have seen
hundreds of websites that have information about using corporate awards for the
betterment of the business. But today, I am going to look into it from a
different perspective altogether. I interviewed almost one hundred employees
from different firms before I started to write this article. Half of these
companies use corporate awards, while there are some who do not use them at
all. So let’s begin with the ones that use corporate awards.
The Results: The Company that uses corporate awards
I found that the
employees were much more satisfied with their work environment and were not
willing to quit even for a pay hike. The results of the company showed a 19%
increase in sales in the last quarter and the net profit was also much higher.
Employees are already gearing up for the next reward and recognition program
which is due in a few months and the sales team and the operations teams are
working extra hours.
For them, the
corporate awards mean much more than a trophy or a wall plaque on their
shelves. It means recognition for the excellent work they have done, it means
an extra addition to their resume and it means better position within the
company. Satisfied employees are the key to a successful company.
The Results: The Company that does not use corporate
awards
Work here was
just another day at the rat race for most employees. They felt as if there
wasn’t enough motivation and as a result, the attrition levels were quite high.
Most employees were willing to leave the company for a better one. The
financial results of the last quarter were not very promising. Putting in extra
work hours took a lot of coaxing and even if they agreed, they hardly gave it
one hundred percent.
So what do you
understand from all this? Should you be using corporate awards in your company
or not? I leave it to you.
