Most gamblers who attempt to make a living from gambling fail and have to find real jobs within the first 6 months. Here we talk about how the successful gamblers make their money.

Gambling: How to Make Money Gambling Professionally

There are plenty of people who enjoy casino style gambling and would love to gamble for a living. But gambling is not a 9 to 5 job, it take years of dedication and practice to make money gambling. Here are some of the ways that professional gamblers earn money.

A Steady Check:
The only way for a professional Poker Player to earn a steady pay check without taking a real job is to have a Sponsor or investor, someone who will give you money to get you from one tournament to another and helping you get thru periods of bad luck in return for you to recommend their product. The most common method of this is to use the player as a billboard like in NASCAR. They will put their name on hats clothing sunglasses anything that will be seen by spectators and hopefully by the television camera. It has become very common to find amateur players trying to look like professional players by wearing shirts with sponsor's names on them because they think it makes them look like the Pros.

Events:
Before you can hold the title of Professional Gambler you need to win some major event like a World Series of Poker Qualifier or the main event itself. Most professional players have won at least one million dollar tournament, and with winnings from small tournaments, and the tables and poker rooms in the casinos they can live a very nice lifestyle, and make the money to enter some of the larger tournaments around the world, some of the buy-ins can be as much as 25 thousand dollars.

Work:
For the professional Poker player going to work means sitting in an online poker room or in a casino at the poker table. For those of you, who may be thinking the playing poker for a living would be a great way to spend your day, try to remember that at your office you show up in the morning and go home 8 or 9 hours latter and you get paid for the day. When you are a professional poker player if you are not winning not only are you not making money at work you are losing money. The hours of a professional poker player are often long and hard. Most casinos are open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and the professionals have to sit and play every day until they win or give up and get a regular job.

Specialty:
Even though most professional gamblers play poker does not mean that to be a professional gambler you have to be a poker player. If you are good enough you can make a living from playing any casino game like Blackjack or Craps, there are even people who make a living Betting on Horses and Sports Betting, but professional gamblers are usually casino game players just because Poker and Blackjack are games of skills and betting on a football game is just luck.

Teaching:
Some Gamblers at the end of their careers like to teach others the strategies and tips they have discovered about gambling over their years of gambling that helped make then so successful. They do this so these techniques they have spent years developing do not get lost in time.

Professional gambling is not an easy way to make a living and very few people can truly make the claim to only survive on money earned from gambling.
